• The Chino Valley Town Council meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 202 N. Highway 89. Agendas are posted 24 hours in advance. Call 636-2646.

• Chino Valley Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meet the first Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m., at the Aquatic Center, 1615 N. Road 1 East. Call 636-9780.

• The Chino Valley Planning and Zoning Commission meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 202 N. Highway 89. The commission posts agendas 24 hours in advance. Call 636-2646.

• The Chino Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Locations vary. The district office posts agendas 24 hours in advance. Call 636-2458.

• The Chino Valley Senior Center Advisory Board meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center, 1021 W. Butterfield Road. Call 636-9114.

• The Chino Valley Fire District Board meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Station 61, 1133 W. Road 3 North. Call 636-2442.

• Mingus Springs Charter School's Board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., 3600 Sunset. Call 636-4766.

• First Southern Baptist Church, located at 1524 N. Highway 89, Chino Valley, is starting an open gym night on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. Volleyball starts Feb. 8. Call 636-2014.



Clubs/Organizations

• American Legion Post 40, Road 3 South in Chino Valley lunches every third Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Soup and sandwiches available for $5. Open to the public. Call 636-2020.

• Discussion Support Group for those in the Chino Valley area experiencing a loss or working through grief. Meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Chino Valley United Methodist Church, 735 E. Road 1 South. Call Nancy at 636-9377.

• Grandparents Raising Grandchildren support group at First Southern Baptist Church, 1524 N. Highway 89, the first Tuesday of each month from 9-10:30 a.m. Call 925-6652.

• Chino Valley Elks Lodge #2842 meets the irst and third Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Chino Valley Senior Center, 1021 W. Butterfield Road. Bingo games are every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for the Early Bird game, at St. Catherine's Laboure Catholic Church, 2602 N. Highway 89 in Chino Valley. Call 636-9920.

• The Toolbox is a weekly group that meets on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Chino Valley Senior Center, 1021 W. Butterfield, for anyone providing care for another to find friendship and empathetic listening. Call 636-9114.

• High Desert Bead Society of Northern Arizona meets the third Saturday of the month from 1-3 p.m. at Mountain Artist Guild Gallery, 228 N. Alarcon, Prescott. Call 708-0413. Memberships available.

• Chino Valley FFA Alumni meet the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the AG Room at the Chino Valley High School. Call 636-2214.

• Chino Valley Historical Society meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Chino Valley Senior Center, Road 1 West and Butterfield Road. All are welcome. For information, call Kay at 636-6011.

• Mountain Spinner's & Weavers Guild meets third Saturday of each month, at 9 a.m., at American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Dr. Prescott. Programs begins at 10:30 a.m.

• United Animal Friends meets the second Friday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in the Prescott Canyon Estates Clubhouse, off Hwy 69, next to Lowe's in Prescott. Call 778-2924.

Miscellaneous

• A "Tea Party" is held the first Saturday of each month at the Lavender Herb Farm, 1097 N. James Drive, Chino Valley from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost: $15. For reservations, call 636-5270.

• Volunteers needed. The American Red Cross Prescott office needs a variety of volunteers, teens through seniors, for morning or afternoon shifts. Call 445-4981.

• Al-Anon meets Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., in an open meeting style at First Southern Baptist Church, 1524 N. Highway 89, next to Buckaroo Market, in Chino Valley. Contact Janie at 636-9168.

• FEAR(less) Anxiety Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at Memory Park in Chino Valley from 5-6 p.m. All are welcome. Call 928- 583-0150.

• United Animal Friends (UAF) has a variety of opportunities for volunteers. Foster parents are needed for homeless cats and dogs. Other volunteers are needed at weekly adoption events and to provide transportation to adoption sites, and vet appointments. Help is also needed with fundraising, phones, and marketing. Arts

• The High Desert Artists meet the second Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Chino Valley Senior Center on Road 1 West and Butterfield. Refreshments provided. Public and guests welcome. Call Chris at 583-0728.

• The Arizona Old-Time Fiddlers free public concert the third Sunday of each month from 1-3 p.m. at the Orchard Ranch Conference Hall, 11250 E. Highway 69 in Dewey. If you play an acoustic stringed instrument and are interested in joining the Old Time Fiddlers, call 237-8930. The practice jams are from 6-8 p.m. each Friday night.



Youth

• Chino Valley Head Start Preschool has an infant/toddler program, a first time/teen mom program, and a preschool/daycare summer sessions. Open to children 0-5 years and free to income-eligible families in the tri-city area. Located at Road 1 West and Palomino Road. Call Toni Flournoy at 636-1076.

• Chino Valley Breakaway/Latigos 4-H Club meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Chino Valley Senior Center, 1021 W. Butterfield. Youth ages 5-18 are welcome. Call 636-3348 or go to their website at chinovalley4-h.com.

• Chino Valley High School FFA meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the AG Room at Chino Valley High School Call 636-2214.

• Chino Valley Library Storytimes Monday and Wednesday for pre-schoolers ages 3-6 from 10:30-11:15 a.m.; Tuesdays for toddlers 18 months-2 years from 10-10:30 a.m. Stories, crafts, music.

• Cub Scout Pack 617 is collecting aluminum cans to help save the planet one can at a time. You can help by dropping cans off at their barrels at J&M Feed and Ace Hardware in Chino Valley or the Pink Store in Paulden. Call Bruce Goodman at 583-0925 for more info or to join the Pack.
