Chino Valley resident Mike Pulley portrays Daniel Bryant in Copper Wind, the only full-length feature western to be filmed exclusively in Arizona from start to finish, with all Arizona talent and scenery.
Mike Pulley has lived in Chino Valley since 1991, "this time," as he puts it. He works for the Town of Chino Valley, and is a long time Civil War and Wild West enthusiast, an accomplished leather worker who is renowned for his 19th century and pre-World War 1 holsters, cartridge belts, saddlebags, scabbards and spur straps.
A native Arizonan, Pulley grew up on ranches throughout the area and served as an extra on the film Junior Bonner, a Steve McQueen western filmed in Prescott. Copper Wind is Pulley's first full-length feature film.
Pulley found out about the movie through word-of-mouth. He ran into some of the people from the movie and they asked if he would be interested having a part. He wouldn't give away exactly what his role is in the movie, but said, "I'm in a fairly long scene towards the end of the movie. I don't have any lines. I put everything across silently and it's a key part."
Pulley said the filming was a lot of fun, and he now has started working on another western.
Copper Wind, produced by Phoenix-based Six Gun Entertainment, LLC, debuts Oct. 12 at the Elks Theatre in Prescott.
