Chino Valley students qualify for National History Day nationals

Students from Chino Valley High School traveled to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix for National History Day on Saturday, April 13.

Senior Group Performance team Tazmon Sproul and Eric Mannix brought home a second place for "Lewis and Clark."

Nikki Potts, Shawnee Clarida, and Josey Greer took a third place for Senior Group Website as an alternate.

Addie Daniels, Rebecca Ballard, Jerilynn Walkins, and Danielle Worden took second place in Junior Group Performance "Water Management and How it Changed Arizona."

Sierra McConnell, Keirsten Tobin, Grace Hopper and Chloe Coker took a third in Junior Group Exhibit: for "Development of Computers," as an alternate.

All of the above students qualified for National History Day Nationals at the University of Maryland June 9-14.

Anyone who would like to help these students attend the National History Day National contest in Maryland may make tax credit donations for an individual ($200) or business/married filing jointly ($400) by calling the District office at 928-636-2458 or use a credit card to make a donation in the name of the National History Day Club.

Each student will need to raise $950 for this experience of a lifetime. For more information, call Scott Sloat at 928-636-2298 or e-mail at ssloat@chinovalleyschools.com.
