Servings included pulled pork, goat stew, cowboy beans, pineapple upside down cake and blueberry peach cobbler.

The Chino Valley High School FFA earned more than $600 at the Third Annual Chino Valley FFA Cookoff contest Saturday at the Cooper Agricultural Center. Dutch oven dishes included cowboy beans, corn on the cob, new potatoes, pulled pork, goat stew, chicken pot pie, lasagna, corn bread, pineapple upside down cake, chocolate brownies, and blueberry peach cobbler. Tyler Krantz, 15, and Denton Bates, 17, placed first in the Youth Division; Dee Wilkins, 1st, in Amateur; and Mark Wilkins, 1st, in Expert. At left, Casey Farnsworth scraps the bottom of the pot to serve up the last of his lasagna made with ground beef. Sampling began immediately following the judging at 3 p.m. and many entrants sold out before 4 p.m. Tickets run $1 per serving. The Country Bumpkins, Bonnie Bantz and Terry Wheeler, entertained the crowd with their music. More photos at cvrnews.com.
