Catholic Charities Community Services is seeking volunteers from the community to help those in need receive free tax preparation services.
Volunteers are needed as tax preparers, greeters and site coordinators. No experience is necessary. Catholic Charities Community Services provides all the training and materials.
Catholic Charities is an IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance provider. Through trained volunteers, they provide free income tax preparation to low- to moderate-income individuals and families.
Volunteers help these people receive the largest qualified return possible by helping them with the Earned Income Tax and other qualifying credits.
Tax preparation services are part of EmpowerU, a program to help vulnerable individuals and families to permanently improve their financial situations and achieve long-term prosperity through education, skill and resource building, planning and mentorship.
Free tax preparation will be offered in the community starting in early February and will continue through April 15.
