Letter: A few examples of a 'trillion' put government spending in perspective

Editor:

Bet you have no idea what a trillion is. It is a very, very big number that our government throws around like pocket change. You never hear anyone talking trillions except our government.

A few facts; A trillion one dollar bills end to end would go around the earth seven times. A trillion one dollar bills end to end would easily reach the sun. A trillion seconds ago the year would be 29,701 B.C. A trillion bricks would build the Great Wall of China 258 times or build a wall to the moon and back twice. A trillion dead leaves in Central Park with 26,000 trees would take 769 years to fall. A trillion pounds would take all of the people on earth to get on a very large scale. To earn a trillion dollars a year at work (40 hours a week) you would need to earn $480,769,231 an hour. A trillion dollars in the 1940s would pay for World War II four times over.

Imagine if you had a trillion dollars in your pocket. Then imagine if you had 16 plus trillion dollars, you could almost do anything, except run our government.

Remember it is our money, not theirs. They work for us. As a shareholder in our company we call America, I think the CEO should step down now.
