Editorial: Chamber, Town work together

For years the Town of Chino Valley has supported the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce with a monetary donation to the non-profit organization.

The donation is an investment back into the Town, for economic development, that in turn, brings in more tax dollars and allows the Town to provide more services to its citizens.

Yes, the general concept is to keep Chino Valley rural. But citizens want services as well, such as roads, police, water and sewer especially to businesses, parks, recreation, library and more. These are services they improve our quality of life. Chino Valley has beautiful ball fields, that appeals to both children and adults, as does the pool and other parks in town.

The two entities definitely must work together, as they do in most communities, for the betterment of the town. People have varying definitions of "rural." Some may picture acres and acres of farm land, while others just want some chickens in the backyard for fresh eggs. As the years go by, Chino Valley, too, varies in its vision of rural.
