Letter: Prop. 123 is short-sighted
For those of you who intend to vote yes on Prop. 123, please consider the fact that you are killing the goose that laid the golden egg!

Letter: When America was great
As a daughter of an immigrant who fled Germany before World War II, I can refer to your question, "When was it that America was great?" [Chino Valley Review, March 30].

Letter: No smoking
There should be no consideration to smokers. What part of "not healthy, smoking kills you and those around you from second-hand smoke and we as a nation spend millions on medical aid regarding the nasty, smelly dirty habit" don't they get? Furthermore, littering the environment with their habit and starting fires by those who do not use their ash tray or common sense.

Letter: Sinister, bizarre
Yet again we go down the rabbit-hole with another bizarre Buz Williams column (March 17). As is typical for Buz, it doesn't take much to show how lopsided are his views. In his column, he writes, "The latest attacks on (Donald) Trump show how desperate the media and the leftists are because of his swelling number of enthusiasts."

Letter: Wise words
Thank you for your March 30th, Chino Valley Review editorial, "When was it that America was great?" Your words were nothing short of profound and demonstrated a courage that is missing in today's America. In addition to brave content, the editorial exemplified the courage it takes to liberally practice freedom of speech.

Letter: Unwise words
The answer to your March 30 editorial, "When was it that America was great?" is "right at the start."

Letter: Infringe what?
"The Right To Keep and Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed." Eleven words with great meaning from the short but easy to understand Second Amendment to the Constitution. Nowhere does it say, "Unless you are on a prohibited possessor list." All free U.S. Citizens have the right to "Keep and Bear Arms" and any attempt to "infringe" on that right is a violation of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, period!

Letter: Get off Trump's back
Enough of the Trump bashing! There are many folks in the Prescott area who support Mr. Trump and who undoubtedly are offended by your horrific distortions of our most favored candidate. The constant barrage of disgraceful, offensive articles and cartoons have reached the saturation point! How about giving us some similar depictions of your leading Democrat candidate, Mrs. Clinton, in an equally derogatory light to the degree of that which you have perpetually denigrated Mr. Trump?

Letter: Hotshots movie
In response to the Daily Courier article regarding the development of a movie about the Granite Mountain Hotshots, I say "no, No, NO!" It may be just my opinion, however I ask, "What about this is a good idea?"

Letter: Looking for the truth
It has been a little over a month since Oregon's Wildlife Refuge has taken place. I have watched the films that the FBI distributed. I have listened and read words from other people involved. Is it so wrong just to know what the truth is?

Letter: Heretic haven
I'm beginning to think the Chino Valley Town Council is just plain stupid.

Letter: Stuff for sale
I am looking through this week's paper right now, and under "Stuff for Sale," I counted not one, but SEVEN ads promoting Viagra sales. The ads in between them ranged from two scams to kill bed bugs and a few more ads for cable TV.

Letter: Transit thanks the Elks
The Board of Directors for Yavapai Regional Transit would like to thank the Chino Valley Elks lodge #2842 for their sizable donation to help support the local bus system. YRT and the CV Elks have worked together for the past three years with the Elks children's Christmas project which provides children new clothes at Christmas. This has been and continues to be one of our favorite events.

Letter: Kudos to the library
Chino Valley Head Start would like to thank the Chino Valley Library and Books For Bed organization for supporting literacy. Our Head Start Preschool and infant/toddler groups know that Miss Darlene, Mrs. Iverson and Mrs. Ethridge give each family so much of their time.

Letter: Thanks CVFD
On Oct. 4, 2015, we had a fire in our motor home. Chino Valley Fire Department responded but the home was fully involved and all they could do was contain it and keep it from spreading to our shop.

Letter: Welcome Shopko
Hats off to the new Shopko store!

I formerly lived in the Midwest, and we had a Shopko store in my area. Loved it. I moved to Chino Valley only recently and now it will be so good to have this smart, well-stocked store in our town. I had shopped at the former ALCO store and was not pleased with the layout of the store, or the way the merchandise was displayed and maintained.

Letter: Stand down on prayer
The first amendment of the United States Constitution states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Letter: Respect Scalia
What a tasteless political cartoon the Review editing board chose to run on Feb. 17 concerning the death of a sitting Supreme Court Justice. Should we, the readers of the Review, expect to see a cartoon of similar vein when a liberal court justice dies?

Letter: Blake to the rescue
Today, Feb. 9, I met a Good Samaritan, his name is Blake. It was the end of the work day, I was stuck by the side of the road with a dead motorcycle. Nobody needed to stop, nobody needed to assist me. He was going home from work, he stopped and helped me. He got me and the motorcycle home safely right to my driveway, mentioned his name and went home.

Letter: We the people
Yes, our government was founded on serving all the people of our country. And, it was also founded on the concept of keeping religion and government separate.

Letter: To pray, or not to pray
Phoenix and Chino Valley differ. Law suits or lines in the sand? Chino Valley, unlike Phoenix, lacks diversity. We could hang up more welcoming signs. Our mayor and council are not dictators so why did my way or the highway prevail?

Letter: Listen to Jefferson
I wonder if the Mayor and Town Council of Chino Valley, which houses many 'fallible and uninspired men,' have read American History, the U.S. Constitution, or know of Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), a brilliant and renowned president of the United States. Mr. Jefferson thought and wrote on many subjects including religious freedom. The words of Mr. Jefferson:
