Letter: Parks & Rec board has good things in store for community

I want to take a moment to update you on various projects your Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is working on. We are moving forward with the Community Park Expansion. You can look forward to walking paths, a new dog park with future plans for ramadas and hopefully an amphitheater. We are working on the future Skate Park and some new basketball set-ups.

It's important that everyone understand the money is earmarked for specific use and is lost if not used in a timely manner. It cannot not be used to support town services or salaries.

With the new improvements we hope we can count on the pride of our community to help "watchdog" our parks to prevent further damages to restrooms, baseball dugouts, the concession stand and playground equipment. We encourage members of our community to report suspicious activity and be a part of preserving what we all have to enjoy.

Carrie Barnes,

Parks and Rec. Advisory Board Member
