Special to the Review
The Horses with H.E.A.R.T. Special Olympics Equestrian team traveled to Scottsdale for the State Games on Nov. 13. Elizabeth Vicoryosmanson traveled to compete in her second State Games.
After she won a grand championship in the Beginners Assisted Division last May at her first competition, Vicoryosmanson's coach, Pam Berry, decided to move her up to the Beginners Independent Division at this competition. She earned 1st place in Showmanship, 2nd place in Equitation, 1st place in Pole Bending, in which she never before had competed, and 2nd place in Working Trail.
After all totals were counted, Elizabeth received Grand Champion in the Beginners Independent Division. Her longtime riding instructor, Trudy Chapman-Radley, her mother, Suzanne Vicoryosmanson and "nana," Carol Vicory are all very proud of her. Vicoryosmanson thanked all of her sponsors from the past year for their support.
