Special to Review

Raindrops fell on the field at Del Rio Elementary School while the Chino Valley High School football defensive varsity and junior varsity teams started their workout week with Head Coach Chuck Apap and his staff Monday, July 22.

The week before, Apap had 60 players in his offensive camp. Also attending the offensive camp was Coach Bob Meyers and some of his offensive line from Walled Lake Central High School all the way from Michigan, where Apap coached years ago.

"We helped Walled Lake Central re-establish their offense," said Apap. "It was nice to see Coach Bob Meyers again after nine years."

Fifty-two defensive players were on the field Monday with Apap's defensive coordinator setting the schedule.

"We have to be patient, each year we increase our numbers," said Apap. "We will start to win as we build our team.

Cougar football takes the field Monday, Aug. 5, for their first practice. For more information on the football program, call Coach Chuck Apap at Chino Valley High School, 928-636-2298.
