While many people are running out of town to beat the heat or to visit family and friends, the Chino Valley High boys' soccer team is playing in the Verde Valley Soccer Club 2013 U-18 summer training schedule with Camp Verde, Mingus Union, Payson and Sedona high schools.

Between the boys' work schedules and summer in full swing, the team is practicing at Territorial Elementary School at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The summer game schedule rotates between all five schools for the next five weeks. The team plays at home at 5:30 p.m. on July 12, and July 26 at Territorial Elementary School.

"If there are any high school boys looking to play summer soccer, please come out and join us," said Chino head coach Jim Clark. "We started the summer season off with a win against Camp Verde."

Also this summer the boys' and girls' soccer coaches will be hosting a Challenger Sports High School Training Half Day Soccer Training Camp from 4-7 p.m. daily on July 22 - 26. Challenger Sports, the largest soccer camp provider in the U.S., provides high school teams with a week-long pre-season training program, combining technical, tactical and physical training to help players ready themselves for a new season.

For more information or to sign up contact Jim Clark at jcjclark@hotmail.com or 928-636-2728 or Alan Foster at alnvel@hotmail.com or 928-848-2009.

Chino Valley High School boys' and girls' soccer teams start their practice Monday, Aug. 12. All athletes must have their physical exams signed by a physician dated on or no earlier than March 1 of the school year.

Fall parent meeting will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Chino Valley High School.
