Springtime is coming, and thoughts turn to...Little League!
Geri Kinsley
Special to Review

Blue skies and sunshine with a little bit of a chill is perfect baseball weather.

Chino Valley Little League conducted its first day of tryouts Saturday. Nine-year-old Trevor Stazenski warmed up his bat while he waited for tryouts to start, while Riley Roskopf grabbed his mitt to field some grounders.

Both Stazenski and Roskopf started playing at the age of four. They tried out Saturday to move up to the Majors.

Saturday, March 2, will be the last chance to sign up and try out for Majors and Juniors for both baseball and softball. Sign up from 9 to 10 a.m. with tryout directly following at the Community Center Ball Fields.

Parents need to bring a copy of their child's birth certificate and $60 to register their child ($55 for each additional child in a family.)

"We need to get as many kids as we can Saturday," said President Tanner Stazenski.

Practices start March 8 and 9. Team pictures and Hit-A-Thon will be at Quail Ridge Park on April 6. Opening Day will be at 5 p.m. Monday, April 8, also at the Community Center Ball Fields.

For more information call Tanner Stazenski at 928-925-6966.
