Chino Valley High School enjoyed a nice week of golf by hosting two consecutive home matches, Monday, March 18, where they took the top spot with a score of 205 over Camp Verde and Bagdad, and again on March 21, where they recorded a respectable 213.
Coach Jerry Behm said Monday's win was a big boost for the team and hopes the home matches will bring some local support to the program.
"The team is young and inexperienced, but showing a tremendous desire to improve," Brehm said.
Nate Billings led the Cougars in Monday's win (48/48) followed by Jake Keeter (51/51), Dillon Garza (53/53), Kyler Tarver (53/53), and Sam Morales (64).
Camp Verde and Bagdad each ended the day with a score of 214.
While the Cougars came up short on Thursday's match up, recording a 213 to tie with Florence, Snowflake led the day (183) followed by second place Holbrook (208).
Tarver led the Cougars (48/48), followed by Garza (53/53), Billings (53/53), and Morales (64).
Chino next tees off on their home course at Antelope Hills at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
