R.J. Bell had a big day and the Cougars had a huge day overall in their 2013 home opener this past Tuesday against Ash Fork.

Bell, a sophomore, had two hits and two RBIs in the doubleheader's first game, a 12-1 win. He also started on the mound and struck out six in two hitless innings.

In the nightcap, a 23-0 blowout, Bell batted 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored.

In the opening game, the drama ended early. The Cougars scored 10 runs in their half of the first inning. Senior Colby Douglas added two hits and two RBIs.

Junior Branden Redfern started on the mound in the nightcap, and went three innings while allowing one hit, zero walks and scattering six strikeouts.

Junior Jeremiah Moeller drove in four runs on two hits, including a triple. Freshman Spencer Coffin went 2-for-2.

The Cougars traveled to Prescott on Tuesday, March 12, to face the Badgers.
