Wednesday night was a night for honoring the Chino Valley wrestling program's outgoing greatness, not to mention its very current greatness.

On Senior Night in Chino, the Cougars topped Parker 57-15 and then Wickenburg 46-25.

Before the matches, the team recognized its seniors, Kishan Batcheldor, Hunter Davis, Joe Ponton. There was also a special ceremony to present 2012 graduate Patch DalCerro with a championship ring for his state title - the first in school history - this past February.

Then the current group took over.

Batcheldor, at 182 pounds, was one of a number of Cougar wrestlers who won both their matches on the night.

Sophomore Kody Davis (113) won two, including a second-period pin over Parker's Aaron Herder, the returning state runner-up.

Joe Wozniak (132), a sophomore bumped up to the varsity level due to an injury, recorded two pins. Kendall Foster (106), Stockton Heiner (120), Taz Sproul (195) and Ponton (126) also collected two wins apiece.

Before motoring into the playoffs, the Cougars have one final regular-season meet next Wednesday with Prescott and Bradshaw Mountain at PHS.
