Tuesday was a big night for Chino Valley basketball, as the Cougars hosted Mayer, ending the night with three W's.

Both varsity squads dominated over the Wildcats, the boys taking a 51-26 victory and the girls coming out on top 40-17. The Cougar boys JV team won with a final of 46-33.

Cole Padilla led the boys varsity with 25 points, recording 13 in the first quarter, 18 in the second, and 16 in the third. Justin Corbell ended the night with 8.

"We really worked hard over the winter break, concentrating on conditioning and it has really paid off," said coach Bill McKnight. "Just look at Cole. He ran non stop all night."

The Cougars will try and carry the momentum through to the end of the week, as they gear up for a home game against Prescott on Thursday with the girls playing the Badgers on the road.

Both the boys and girls will host Ash Fork on Friday for the schools "Knock Out Hunger Night" with games starting at 2:30 p.m. with the girls JV, followed by boys JV at 4:00 p.m., girls varsity at 5:30 p.m., and the boys taking the court for a 7:00 p.m. tip off.

The teams ask that all fans bring a non-perishable food item to the game to receive $1.00 off their ticket price.

All food will be donated to the Chino Valley Food Bank.
