Ex-Paulden resident killed in Oregon militia shootout
Federal and state law officers arrested the leaders of an armed group occupying a national wildlife refuge, during a traffic stop along a highway in Oregon's frozen high country that prompted gunfire and left a former Paulden resident dead.

Officials seek comments on grazing lands
The Chino Valley District Ranger has begun an environmental analysis on two grazing allotments within the district: Smith Canyon and Williamson Valley, and public comments are welcome. Christine Thiel, Chino Valley Acting District Ranger, is proposing to continue to authorize livestock grazing within the project area using resource protection measures and monitoring.
