A single vehicle accident on Hwy 89 and Outer Loop Rd closed southbound lanes Monday morning. Crews expected to have the lanes opened by 4:30 p.m.

A single vehicle accident on Highway 89 at Outer Loop Road in Chino Valley closed southbound traffic at approximately 11:15 a.m. Monday when a dump truck carrying sand rolled over after jumping the curb.

According to Chino Valley Police Dept. spokesman Cmdr. Mark Garcia, cleanup crews working the scene expected to have the highway opened by 4:30 p.m.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was being treated at the scene by emergency services personnel from the Chino Valley Fire District and Life Line Ambulance service.

According to Garcia, a second truck and backhoe were being brought in to assist with the cleanup.

Round-abouts don't kill people - idiots who ignore the speed limit and yield signs kill people.

I saw this week's Chino Valley Review on a news stand right next to a Daily Courier. Why does today's Daily Courier have a huge front page photo of a major Chino Valley event (i.e. dump truck rollover and highway closure) but this week’s Review has just a snapshot of 2 kids and a dog? Wasn’t the Courier photo taken by a Review reporter?

These RAB are a joke. I refuse to go to Sedona since all these RAB were installed.

hit the curb? At what speed!
When to alot of Adot meeting when they were planning these roundabouts.Adot from what I remember said trucks could go thru and stay in their lane. Is not what I see every day! Think ADOT &Chino Valley need to get together an finish road 1 east down to where ever 5 ? south is suppose to be.
An they wanted to put roundabouts at 1 & 2 South.
Stop this roundabout Madness .

I'm with you Richard. Looks to me like we're trying to copy Europe on our roads as well as our economy. Over there, the small vehicles fair well on the RABs, but here we have large trucks that do not do as well.

I guess some liberals will just say, ban the trucks! Great, but empty shelves in the stores will then be the results.

More validation why round-abouts are not more efficient than intersections. Hope the driver is alright and that it doesn't take ADOT/ Town of CV a year to fix the damages. BAN THE ROUNDABOUTS!!!!!
