A party in Chino Valley Wednesday night turned violent when a man shot two of the guests, a police spokesman said.

When police responded to the scene in the 800 block of East Road 3 North at about 10 p.m., they found "numerous people fleeing the scene and were able to detain a few," Lt. Vincent Schaan said.

From interviews, they were able to establish that Scott St. Pierre, 24, pointed a gun at a woman and a man, both 40 years old, and then fired, striking both, Schaan said.

St. Pierre had left the scene before police arrived.

Chino Valley Police began a search, joined by sheriff's deputies, the Prescott Valley Police K9 unit, and a DPS Ranger helicopter.

St. Pierre was arrested about two hours later when the K9 team located him, Schaan said.

The male victim was flown to a Valley hospital, but is not expected to survive his injuries, Schaan said. The female victim was taken to YRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Schaan said St. Pierre was booked into the Camp Verde jail on "numerous felony charges."
