Police to conduct drill at Chino Valley High School

Chino Valley Police Dept.

The Chino Valley Police Department in conjunction with the Chino Valley High School faculty is conducting a training drill at Chino Valley High School on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

This training drill will include response to a critical incident at the campus by law enforcement.

When the drill begins the Chino Valley High School campus will be placed on lock down and remain on lock down until the conclusion of the drill. While in lock down students will not be allowed to leave their classroom or campus. Students arriving late will have to remain in the administrative office until they can be transferred to a secondary location on the campus. Parents arriving on campus will be able to enter the office area of the high school if they need to engage in school-related business.

The training drill will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude around 11 a.m. to allow students to eat lunch. The drill is designed to help local first responders as well as school staff train on responding and dealing with a critical incident at the school campus.

The training drill poses no danger to the students on campus. During the drill students will remain in their classroom until instructed by school officials and/or law enforcement to relocate to a secondary location on the campus.

The high school has notified parents of this upcoming drill. If anyone has questions or concerns relating to this training drill they are encouraged to contact Sgt. Vincent Schaan at the Chino Valley Police Dept. or Mrs. Brice at Chino Valley High School.
