At 8:57 a.m. on Saturday, crews from the Chino Valley, Central Yavapai, and Williamson Valley fire districts, as well as deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Williamson Valley and Stazenski roads, near mile marker 10.

When public safety personnel arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles - a 1997 Mazda sedan and a 2004 Ford pickup truck - with heavy body damage. Three people had to be transported to hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The driver of the car, Kaitlin Emig, 23, of Prescott, had to be extracted from the vehicle. Chino Valley Fire District spokesman Rob Zazueta said Emig was airlifted to John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix with serious injuries.

James Clark, 74, of Prescott, the driver of the truck, and his 46-year-old passenger were transported by ambulance to Prescott-area hospitals for further evaluation, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said.

According to witnesses at the crash scene, Emig was traveling north on Williamson Valley Road. Emig turned in front of Clark as she tried to make a left onto Stazenski Road from Williamson Valley Road. Clark was southbound on Williamson Valley Road when the vehicles collided, D'Evelyn said.
